AHMEDNAGAR, Sept 19: Ahmednagar and Kopargaon Parliamentary constituencies have registered record polling. The question asked here is who will benefit by the record polling. Ahmednagar constituency had recorded 67 per cent polling while in Kopargaon, the polling was 71 per cent. The long interval between the polling dates and counting has caused anxiety among the candidates as well as their political workers. Whether the record polling benefits the ruling groups or the opposition will be known only after the counting results are out.
In the past, the highest poll percentage in Ahmednagar was 64 which was recorded in 1984, following the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
