Women's festival at Hisar

NEW DELHI, September 19: The 13th Haryana State Women Sports Festival would be held at Hisar from September 23.

About 2100 player and 150 technical officials from all over the stae would participate in this festival. Haryana Sports Department would spend Rs six lakh and District Olympic Association, Hisar, would contribute Rs four lakh for the organisation of this festival.

The competitions in athletics, handball, kabaddi, volleyball, basketball and gymnastics will be held for the women group whereas competitions in athletics, kabaddi and hockey would be organised for the girls under-16.

In the athletic events competitions in races of 100M, 200M, 300M, 400M, 800M, 1500M And 3000M, Hammer throw, javelin throw, discuss throw, long jump, high jump and 4X100m relay race would be conducted for both age groups except discuss throw in the under 16 years girls group.

Haryana state women teams would be selected on the basis of the performances of the player in this meet. The state women teams would participate in the National Women Sports Festival Group-I at Chandigarh and Patiala, Group-II at Delhi and Group-III at Bangalore and also in All-India Rural Sports Meets Group-I at Calcutta and Group-II at Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat.
