Three-in-a-row by Pakistan

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
TORONTO, SEPT 20: Pakistan made a clean sweep by crushing the West Indies by seven wickets in the third and final match for the DMC Trophy at the Cricket, Skating and Curling Club here yesterday. The World Cup runners-up chasing a meagre 162 runs to win, completed the formalities in the 40th over with Abdur Razzak (57) and Inzamam-ul-Haq (55 not out, 93b, 8x4) steering the side to victory.

``I think the boys played very well, especially Shabbir who made a fine debut,'' stand-in skipper Moin Khan said after the match. Wasim Akram, who was rested for the final game, said that his team had proven that `it was the best in the world'. ``We look forward to go to Australia this winter and beat them there,'' Akram, whose team was thrashed by the Aussies in the World Cup final, quipped.

The West Indies, despite packing their team with nine specialist batsmen, crumbled to a fiery debut by fast bowler Shabbir Ahmed Khan (3-52) and the crafty spin bowling of Saqlain Mushtaq (2-18) and Mushtaq Ahmed (3-31).

TheCaribbean side, who won the Coca Cola Trophy in Singapore early this month and raised visions of a resurgence, were disappointing in their first appearance at Toronto winning only one out of the six matches here.

``We had fifteen guys here, we should have made a match of it. Some youngsters have done well, hope they will improve further from here,'' a disappointed West Indian skipper Brian Lara said.

Razzak who picked up a wicket and scored a responsible half century was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match.
