ISLAMABAD, SEPT 21: Pakistan on Tuesday strongly denied supporting terrorist activities of Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden in Russia and accused India of sponsoring such ``propaganda'' against Islamabad. In a statement here on Tuesday, a Pakistani foreign office spokesman also denied reports that Russian foreign minister had written to his Pakistani counterpart Sartaj Aziz warning Pakistan not to support bin Laden's alleged ``terrorist activities in Russia.''
Alleging that such ``malicious reports'' had appeared in the local media ``based on Indian sources,'' the foreign office stressed that ``no such communication had been received from the Russian side.''
``Neither there is nor there has been any Pakistani support to Osama bin Laden,'' the spokesman said.
He refuted the Indian claim of arresting eight alleged Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agents on September 17 and described them as ``totally baseless and incorrect.''
``Such false and ridiculous charges have frequently beenmade by the Indianside without providing a shred of evidence,'' the spokesman alleged. He said such reports in Indian media were ``officially inspired as a part of the malicious Indian propaganda campaign to malign Pakistan.''
