Narvekar lost the prestigious ministry for forests and Sardinha the civil supplies portfolio to Somnath Zuwarkar and Sanjay Bandekar respectively. Power Minister Nirmala Sawant, who has been having a very long running feud with the Chief Minister, retained her ministry though she has been downgraded to number eleven in the ministry.

Faleiro's ministers include new entrants Suresh Parulekar and Prakash Velip who broke away from the United Goans Democratic Party and the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak party respectively. They get revenue and panchayat portfolios respectively.
