School students held
The Makarpura police on Tuesday arrested three students studying in 12th standard in a school in Makarpura area on the charge of lifting a Hero Honda (GJ-16-D- 775) motorcycle from Mahabeer Complex in Tarsali area. According to the police, a police patrol party hailed the three riding the motorcycle to stop near Tarsali chowk and questioned them about the vehicle papers. They told the police that they had lifted the vehilce for fun, and would abandon it once the fuel was exhausted.

Case registered
The Padra police have registered a case against a cashier and security guard of Metro Chemicals Company in Umraya village on charges of stealing Rs 1.6 lakhs from the company's office two day's ago. According to the police, the theft occurred on September 19, but the case was filed today, and its proprietors had suspected these two employees. Investigations are on.

Housebreak
Cash and goods worth Rs 73,400 were reported stolen from three houses in different parts of the city during Monday night. According to the police, while Rs 17,000 in cash was stolen from a second floor house in Anand Nagar Apartment near India Mill under J P road Police Station, Rs 32,000 was stolen from a house in Sharda Society in Warasia locality under City Police Station, and ornaments worth Rs 24,400 stolen from a house in Sankarda TAP area. While the miscreants broke the lock on the main gate in the first case, they removed window grills in the remaining two cases for committing the crime, the police said. Investigations are on.

Suicide attempt
The Navapura police have registered a case of attempt to suicide against one Ramanbhai Babubhai Rathwa, a resident of Moti Kharwa, on Monday. According to the police, the accused made a failed bid to commit suicide by taking insecticide due to his inability to arrange money for his daughter's marriage recently.
