Bild up on Agassi-Graf affair

BERLIN: That Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi are now a couple was proved by pictures of the two kissing in public, including one on the popular daily Bild's front page. ``They smile, shine, and kiss each other -- and not just on the cheek,'' the mass-circulation German daily gushed yesterday. Bild ran pictures of the two locked in a kiss, while a second shows them sitting side-by-side with broad smiles. Now they are showing the whole world: yes, we are together!'' Bild added.

Power-less Canada bow out

CAIRO: Canada could not sustain their challenge for the World Team Championship without their injured No 1 and former World champion, Jonathon Power. Moving up the playing order to take his place, Graham Ryding made a supreme effort in Canada's quarter-final against Wales, but lost after leading Alex Gough 2-0 and Canada's cause was lost. In the semifinals yesterday, Wales, promoted from division two, play England, who trounced France 3-0, while Australia meet Egypt.
