RPI-Athawale to protest Supreme Court ruling

MUMBAI, SEPT 22: The Athawale faction of the Republican Party of India (RPI) will agitate against the Supreme Court's recent ruling that the reservation quota system can be applicable only at the level of entry into government service and not at the promotional stage.``The Dalits are agitated and upset,'' Ramdas Athawale, who heads the Athawale faction of the RPI, told mediapersons today. He said his party will seek an appointment with President K R Narayanan and is also obtaining legal opinion pertaining to filing a special leave petition in the Supreme Court.
