Training course in computers

A Ten-day training course in computer applications has been organised by the the Centre for Social Studies, Surat October 25 to November 3 for social science teachers and researchers from universities and colleges. The course will provide exposure in computer processing, computer fundamentals and basic requirements of proper processing of data.

Pensioners' association meet

Brihan Mumbai Pensioners Association has arranged a meet for all pensioners on September 26 at 4 pm at Manik Vidya Mandir Hall (near Lilavati Hospital), Bandra Reclamation, to celebrate their victory on the writ petition filed in the Bombay High Court to avail of the benefits of the Fifth Pay Commission. The state government has been directed to disburse the arrears in three equal installments with effect fromJanuary 1, 1996 to June 30.

Website for films, TV, theatre

A three-page free website on films, television serials, music and theatre companies is being offered on Powernet Technologies' website www.showbizindia.com. It provides film reviews, box-office collections, interviews of Indian film stars, an Indian glamour directory, brief sketches of foreign film stars, highlights of programmes on television channels and Indian film music albums, and a photo gallery of over 3000 photographs of Hollywood and Bollywood stars.

Free Braille classes
