2 slumlords held under MPDA

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
MUMBAI, SEPT 22: Two persons have been arrested and detained under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA) by the Kandivli (W) police for building unauthorised constructions.

The duo, Ravikumar Raj and Azizulla Rahimtullah Shaikh has been charged with constructing slums on Marve Road, Survey No 263, on government land opposite Udanchand Kendra. The local P/N ward office brought this happening to the notice of the police.

Raj and Shaikh have also been charged by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) under the Metropolitan Regional Town Planning (MRTP) Act along with accomplices Parvez Amanullah Khan and Naseembanu Shaikh alias Baby. No sooner were the charges registered than the duo were taken into custody. The police are also investigating cases against their two accomplices, Khan and Baby, under the MRTP Act.
