The issue came up for discussion at the general body meeting when Ramesh Bodke of Shiv Sena, Suhas Kulkarni of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shobha Barne sought clarification from the administration whether it was aware of the incident. Bodke alleged that Bhosale, who was heavily drunken was moving around in the hospital with a stick, which created terror among the patients. He said there had been several complaints against Bhosale but the administration was not taking action. He was supported by all the corporators.

Dr. Anil Rawetkar, Chief Medical Officer tried to pacify the members saying that he came to know about the incident in the midnight and immediately sent an officer to verify it. He said he was waiting for the report from the concerned officer.

Rawetkar's statement further irked the members who asked as to why Dr. Bhosale was not sent for medical examination. Shashikala Kumbhar of Congress drew attention of the meeting towards the fact that the same doctor was suspended twice in the past for misbehaviour and misconduct.

Shobha Barne said the doctor's behaviour had created terror among the lady patients and a few patients had left the hospital because of doctor. Additional Municipal Commissioner Ashok Deshpande said he would take action after receiving the report.

This created further chaos in the house with corporators demanding that the administration should take action against the doctor immediately. Vijay Kale of BJP warned that they would not allow the house to take further business till the action was taken. Dr. Rawetkar finally announced that the concerned doctor would be suspended immediately.

The members later also moved an adjournment motion against the administration, which was passed by the majority. Republican Party of India corporators opposed the motion.
