Vocational training project at Kherwadi

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE  
MUMBAI, SEPTEMBER 26: The Kherwadi Social Welfare Association (KSWS), in collaboration with NGOs in Bandra (east) and the Shramik Vidyapeeth at Worli has started a vocational training project in the slums of Kherwadi, Bandra (east). The association was founded over 50 years ago by the late B G Kher, first premier of the erstwile Bombay province. The project is oriented towards school dropouts and persons with no educational background. Services will be provided regardless of age limit. Those who sign up will have to pay 50 per cent of the fees charged by private institutions. The courses offered will include those for wiremen and beauticians, welding, air-conditioning, vehicle repairing, nursing aid, embroidery and tailoring.
