India bag 13 gold on opening day
PT Usha (11.45) produced some of the old form but only for a silver as Sri Lanka's Damayanthi Darsha won the women's 100m final in the South Asian Federation Games Athletics events.

Hockey team fourth
India squandered a 3-2 lead and went down 3-5 to Canada in a keenly contested bronze medal playoff to end their campaign on a dismal note in the four-nation pre-Olympic Hockey Tournament in Sydney yesterday.
