Geriatric Day celebrations

Celebrations for World Geriatric Day are being organised by the geriatric services of KEM hospital on October 1 at 9.30 am at Dr Jivraj Mehta lecture theatre, (MLT) Seth G S Medical College, Parel. The programme includes a display of handicrafts and idols made by patients in the therapeutic workshop and felicitation of these patients, release of a special issue Nutrition in Elderly and a booklet on the care of the elderly formulated by the Geriatric Services Personnel.

Ayurvedic camp at Marine Lines

A free ayurvedic camp which proposes to treat asthma, chronic cold, sinus, cough, sneezing, skin-diseases including white patches, liver disorder, epilepsy and pimples will be held from September 29 to December 12 between 5 pm to 7 pm at 4 F 2 Court Chamber's, 35 New Marine Lines. Readers for the blind

The Blind Graduate Forum of India requires volunteers to read and write for visually impaired students. Thoseinterested should be present at the Readers day celebration at the Kamla Mehta School for Blind Girls near Hindumata Cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke Road, Dadar (E) on October 9. Communication workshop

A one-day workshop on `Enhancing Communication' is being conducted by the Aavishkar Clinic at Neral on October 9. The topics which will be discussed are: communication and its types, its importance, skill enhancers, the importance of communication in relationships, barriers and overcoming these.
