NEW DELHI, September 27: Mamta Modern Senior Secondary School defeated Central Reserve Police (Rohini) school 4-0 and Government Boys Senior Secondary School (Moti Bagh) downed Guruharkishan Public School 3-1 to enter the final of the Delhi Development Authority inter-school football tournament at the Hari Nagar Sports Complex here today. In the first semifinals, Mamta school boys proved too hot for their rivals to handle and were left wondering how to stop the onslaught launched by the former. For, right form the word go, the Mamta Modern boys went on the attack and forced CRPF school on the back foot. So much so, the latter almost forgot how to launch an attack on Mamta and this made things easy for the winners.
Within few minutes of the start, Mamta school boys took control of the proceedings and made deep inroads into the rival territory. With the CRPF defence in disarray, their star striker Ninja opened the account. He eventually completed a fine hat-trick to seal the fate of CRPF school.
In the second semi-final, the Moti Bagh school boys were far superior to GHPS who were finding it difficult to stop the flurry of shots attempted towards their goal.
By the interval they had taken a winning lead before GHPS mustered their resources to pull one back. That is all they could do in the light of a sound defence which was well fortified by Moti Bagh boys.
