Brigadier's wife stabbed to death in Delhi Cantt

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, SEPT 29: A forty-six-year-old woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her servant in her first-floor flat at the Army Officer's Colony in Shanker Vihar, Delhi Cantonment, on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Raminder also known as Mini, was the wife of Brigadier D S Khurana who is serving at the Army Headquarters. There was no one in the house apart from her and the domestic servant, Ramoo (30), when she was attacked.

She had been stabbed in the chest with a kitchen knife. There were blood stains on the refrigerator outside the kitchen and a water bottle and a single slipper were found lying on the floor.

The trail of blood indicates that she was probably attacked near the refrigerator. She managed to stumble out of her house and bang on the door of her neighbour who lives in the flat opposite. As the neighbour opened the door, Raminder collapsed on the ground without saying anything.

The neighbours informed the police and her husband and rushed Raminder to the Army's RNR Hospital at around3.15 pm where she died.

``She was busy baking a cake since morning,'' said a neighbour. The dining table had been laid for three persons and Raminder was waiting for her daughter to return from college.

After stabbing her, Ramoo locked the door of the house from inside. When the police arrived, they had to force open the door. They found Ramoo holding a belt and a knife claiming that the orderly had committed the crime. Ramoo was taken into custody.

A native of Bihar, Ramoo, had been working with the Brigadier for the last one year, said Raminder's brother-in-law Manjeet Singh Anand.
