Road traffic faces snags too

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Sept 29: Road traffic between Khadki and Dapodi on the Pune-Mumbai highway was blocked for over three hours following minor mishaps and break down of vehicles this evening.

Hundreds of people, mainly employees and students returning to their homes, were left stranded at several places as the movement of the Pune and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Transport buses was completely thrown out of gear. The buses could not reach their destinations at Nigdi-Pradhikaran, Pune station, and the Pune Municipal Corporation, because of which people were left stranded. It appeared as if the PMT and PCMT buses were off the roads between Nigdi-Pradhikaran and Pune.

The movement of vehicles was severely affected between Dapodi and Khadki because of the road bottlenecks. The traffic police were having a hard time to control the traffic. There were minor mishaps at Dapodi and Phugewadi and there were long queues of vehicles in both directions.
