MIG Cricket Club, Bandra, will hold selection trials for its cricket academy on October 1-2 at the club ground. The trials will be held as follows in two age groups Boys U-14 (born after 1.9.85) at 7.30 am, & Boys U-16 (born after 1.9.83) at 3 pm. Boys should carry true copies of their birth certificates.

Carrom trials

Maharashtra Carrom Association will conduct selections trials for boys and girls under-14 on October 2 from 9 am onwards at Worli Sports Club, Adarsh Nagar, Prabhadevi. Those selected will represent the state in the XXVI Sub-junior Nationals and Inter-state meet, at Thiruvananthapuram on October 25. Last date for entries is September 30. Contact JV Sangam 4327831.

Pool tournament

The preliminaryrounds of the Gold Flake Lights pool championship will begin simultaneously in 128 Mumbai pool clubs on October 3. The winner from each club will participate in a three-day final, from October 15-17, at Hotel Taj Mahal. The winner will earn Rs 75,000, the runner-up Rs 50,000. Entry fee Rs 200.
