Usha, Sunita take centre stage
Two Indian women, PT Usha and Sunita Rani, took centrestage as seven records fell on the concluding day of the athletics competition during the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games at the Dasratha Stadium in Kathmandu today. Usha, who failed to improve upon her personal bests in sprints (100m, 200m), and was overshadowed by the Sri Lankan Damayanthi Darsha earlier, set the record straight, running a blistering anchor in the women's 4x100 relay. The Indian quartet of Jayalakhsmi, Vanita Tripathi, Saraswati Dey and Usha clocked 44.64 secs to smash the time of 44.74 secs set by Sri Lanka during the 1995 Games.

Disqualified
Yet another disqualification, this time the women's 4x100 medley relay quartet, marred India's gold rush, even as Nisha Millet won her record sixth gold in the swimming events of the eighth SAF Games. Following yesterday's disqualification of the men's 4x200 freestyle relay quartet, today's disqualification of the women's relay team robbed India of a clean sweep of the swimming golds.

India win
India notched up a comprehensive 58-run verdict against hosts Kenya to register their second-straight league victory and storm into the final of the four-nation LG Cup cricket tournament with a match to spare.
