Man attacked
Narsinh Kasturbhai Chawla, 25, was seriously injured on Saturday when he was attacked with a knife, allegedly by Lalchand Surtaji, at Dedki garden near Khokhra bridge. Offences have been registered against both Chawla and Lalchand by Kagdapith police station. Chawla, who was injured in the back, forehead and throat, is undergoing treatment at L G Hospital. Both accused and injured are residents of Shivnandnagar, Amraiwadi and reportedly disagreed on some issue.

Liquor seized
Naranpura police on Sunday morning seized 48 boxes of IMFL worth nearly Rs 1 lakh, and arrested three persons under the Prohibition Act. Police gave chase to a Maruti which was trying to flee near Bhimpura crossroads in Naranpura and apprehended the accused.

Cheating case
A cheating case was registered at the Naroda police station on Saturday. Accused H K Sarkar, Managing Director of the Memorial Finance and Investment Company, and nine others had promised to provide houses to people in return for money. The housing scheme was never completed and a fraud of Rs 5 lakh perpetrated.

Break-in
Naranpura police registered a break-in case on Sunday. Silver jewellery and valuables worth Rs 3,04,400 were stolen from Poojan Jewellers, Bhimjipura, on Saturday.
