Diploma engineers seek repatriation of deputationists

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SAS NAGAR, Oct 3: The PUDA Diploma Engineers Association, at its meeting held here today, has criticised the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority for appointing employees on deputation from other departments, depriving the right of the junior engineers.

Demanding immediate repatriation of deputationists to their respective parent departments, Association president A.S. Randhawa said this exercise had caused stagnation in Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA), where junior engineers with 25 years of service are yet to get promoted. While others who have come from outside are on higher positions.

Besides seeking accommodation at par with their counterparts in the state government departments, he demanded revival of 2 per cent quota in housing schemes being floated by the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA).

He also criticised the Badal government for the stoppage of payment of conveyance allowance on the pretext of the financial crunch in the state.
