CHANDIGARH, OCT 4: Issuing notice of motion to Director Public Instructions (school), D.S. Saroya, for November 29, the Punjab and Haryana High Court today asked him to show cause "as to why proceedings for contempt be not drawn" for alleged violation of orders regarding promotions.Pronouncing the directions on lecturer Madhu Rama's petition, Justice V.S. Aggarwal of the High Court, however, granted the respondent exemption from personal appearance "till further orders". Alleging non-compliance, the lecturer, in her petition, had earlier stated that the respondents had "not made the promotions in accordance with the orders of the Central Administrative Tribunal".
The counsel for the petitioner had added that the lecturer had been "denied the benefit of the order even after the expiry of six months". The counsel had added that the CAT, in its order dated April 4, had held the act of the respondents in reverting the applicants as bad in law and had also quashed the impunged order dated October 8, 1991.
