Main accused in Sector 7 assault case arrested

PANCHKULA, OCT 4: Nitin Modi and Nazir Mohammed, the two main accused in the assault on Sector 7 shopkeeper Jaspal Singh, were arrested by the local police here on Sunday night, Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal said. Meanwhile, shopkeepers of the Sector 7 market withdrew their ongoing strike and opened the shops today morning. The Sector 7 residents had faced a lot of difficulty as the market had remained closed since Saturday evening to protest the assault and demand arrest of the accused.

The Market Welfare Association had even threatened to observe Panchkula Bandh if the police were unsuccessful in apprehending the main accused in the incident by Monday.
