Twenty five year old woman alleges kidnap, rape

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
AHMEDABAD, Oct 4: A twenty-five-year-old woman living in Amraiwadi area was allegedly kidnapped, kept in confinement for nearly 16 days and raped after she refused to withdraw a complaint against Taraben Shanker Malbari.

The woman had earlier lodged a complaint against Taraben for forcibly collecting funds under the Antyodaya Yojna at Amraiwadi police station.

In a fresh complaint, the woman said she was kidnapped on September 13 from a jeans factory in the area. As she was entering the factory, she was accosted by Raju Vaghela and two others who dragged her into a rickshaw. She was taken to the residence of Raju's aunt in Vadasan. She was then threatened and raped by Raju and his accomplice, she said.

Later Raju threatened the woman and asked her to sign papers to withdraw the complaint filed against Taraben. But when Raju and his accomplice went out, she frightened his aunt and escaped. The woman returned home on September 23, but was prevented from filing the police complaint. Later, she filed the complaint at Amraiwadi police station against Raju and his accomplice.
