PUNE, Oct 4: Shivajians met their match in Roopali SC as they crashed 0-2 for their first defeat in the PDFA Senior Division League at the Ammunition Factory Kirkee ground, here today. Roopali struck once in each half, first by Milind Kadam and then Bapu Raikar, to earn full marks.Later in a ding-dong battle Sangam Young Boys registered a 3-2 verdict over KP XI. With Raju Kadam giving SYB the lead, Peter Sequeira neutralised the game to end the first half. Changing ends, Vinay Verghese gave KP the lead only to see Raju level terms for the second time in the game. The final minutes saw KP succumb to pressure which led to SYB's match-winner scored by medio Kiran Sawant.
II Division: Meanwhile the Second Division league kicks-off at the AFK ground from October 6. A total of 16 teams will vie for top honours from two groups.
AFK play Dehu Ordinance Depot (DOD) at 2.30 in the inaugural tie followed by the Maha Bank-Shivajians `B' encounter.
