Badla around 34% on CSE

Calcutta, Oct 7: Badla rates at the turn of settlement hovered around 33-34 per cent per annum in initial trading at the official session. Feedback from participants suggested that the volumes of business would be close to the 34 per cent level reached at the end of previous settlement.Sources pointed out that outstanding positions were maximum in Zee Telefilms, Ranbaxy, Pentafour Software, Satyam Computers and SBI. After starting at 38 per cent, the rates came down to 34 per cent. In private deals, however, rates are believed to have touched 55 per cent in Zee and over 40 per cent in Ranbaxy and Penta.
