Bangalore, Oct 13: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president, Ashok Singhal, said yesterday that the construction of the Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya was going on without hindrance and the political parties have no role play in the temple construction. He told mediapersons here that the temple work was being carried out by sadhus and sants (religious heads). About 20 per cent work on the temple had been completed and the traditional work of carving the pillars and other stoneworks was being done at five different places.
The `prana pratishta' (idol installation) by the religious heads will be carried out after some more work would be completed after two years.
He said the construction work was being carried out from the interest on Rs.8.5 crores collected for building the Ram temple at Ayodhya.
He said the issue had been vitiated by the political parties with some of them favouring the construction and some against it merely to create a vote bank for them. ``They gotprasad they deserved'', he added.
