GEB squad assaulted
A Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) squad that went to Brahman village in Karjan taluka to check power theft was assaulted by villagers on Wednesday morning. According to Karjan police, the GEB team led by Vinod Nanalal Shah went to the house of one Kanaksinh Bhimsinh Parmar and detected power theft by illegal connection. This led to an argument between Parmar and the GEB employees. Meanwhile, about a dozen villagers had assembled there, and stoned the GEB employees and damaged their official vehicle. The Karjan police have registered a case against Parmar and five others in this connection and started investigation.

House robbed
Cash and valuables worth Rs 1.98 lakhs was reportedly stolen from house no. C-26 in Motinagar Society, behind RTO office in Warasia, on Tuesday night. According to the police, thieves entered the house by removing the bedroom window grills, and removed Rs 1.5 lakhs cash and jewellery worth Rs 48,000 from the cupboard. The incident occurred between 0.30 am and 5 am when the occupants of the house were in deep sleep.

Car tape stolen
A car tape, a speaker, and a battery were reported stolen from a tempo (GJ- 2-X-16) that was parked outside the house of one Ratilal Shankarbhai Rabari in Rahiyapura village under Chhani Police Station two days ago. In a complaint with the Chhani police, Rabari has suspected the involvement of three persons of the adjoining Damapura village in the theft.
