Surat cop dies during workout

SURAT, Oct 13: Armed head constable Abdul Hamid Abdul Razzak Munjawar (45), attached to the city police headquarters here, died of a heart attack, while taking part in a routine morning workout at the police parade ground in Atwalines on Wednesday.

According to the Umra police, Munjawar (buckle no 485) turned up early in the morning at the ground for the daily parade practice. After completing his routine stretching exercises, Munjawar even sprinted to Parle Point area along with his group. But as they sprinted back to the ground, Munjawar fainted and fell on the ground after which he was rushed to the the Mission Hospital, where he was declared dead on admission.
