Chandigarh beat Patiala

PATIALA, Oct 13: Chandigarh beat Patiala by four wickets in the Punjab Inter-District Cricket tournament (under-19) for Dhruve Pandove Trophy at the Dhruve Pandove Cricket Stadium here today. In reply to Patiala's first innings total of 194, Chandigarh, resuming at their overnight total of 69 for 3, scored 197 for 6. Vikram Sodhi and Gawiar Gupta contributed 59 and 48 runs respectively.
Brief scores: Patiala: 194 (Gaganinder Garry 64, Hari Krishan Mandora 33, Sanpreet Singh 24, Ranjeev Rinku 28, Sanjay Dhull 4 for 47, Amit Uniyal 2 for 46, Harit Sharma 2 for 38). Chandigarh (overnight 69 for 3): 197 for 6 (Vikram Sodhi 59, Gawiar Gupta 48, Yuvraj Singh 24, Amit Uniyal 20, Hari Krishan Kali 4 for 65, Gautam Mandora 1 for 44, Gaganinder Garry 1 for 31).

Cricket tourney
An Open Cash Prize cricket tournament is being organised by Kharar Defence Cricket Club at Kharar from October 17. An organiser of the meet Gurmeet Singh said that cash prizes of Rs 5100 and Rs 3100 to the winners and runners-up would be given. Entry closes on October 15.
