HISAR, OCT 15: In an unusual incident, a teacher allegedly pulled the right ear of a Std II student so hard that it was ripped out. The incident, reported from the Sewa Bharti Charitable Trust School, left 10-year-old Sudhir bleeding profusely. He later fainted and was admitted to a local private nursing home.According to information available, two students had a quarrel over sharing of seats in the class, and when the teacher, Vandana came to know of it, she pulled Sudhir's ear so hard that part of the ear lobe came off.
Fellow students informed the parents of the boy, who took him to a local hospital. Sudhir was then taken to another private hospital where a skin specialist operated on the boy.
An official of the school, Rajender Goel, when contacted, confirmed the incident but said it happened as the child already had some problem with his ear, and the teacher was not at fault. ``She just pulled the right ear gently when it got separated,'' he claimed, adding that the management had decided to bearall expenses of the treatment. Asked about any action against the teacher, he said, ``There is no question of any action as the teacher is a gentle lady and was not at fault.''
However, Sudhir's parents denied that their son had any problem in the ear.
