Greenpeace ship to sail into Mumbai
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
OCTOBER 20: A Greenpeace' vessel -- `Rainbow Warrior' -- will sail to the city in December during the 15th anniversary of the Bhopal gas tragedy under the motto - `no more Bhopals'.The ship is a messenger of solidarity and peace and will convey the vision of a toxic free future, Greenpeace' Executive Director Thilo Bode said in a statement today. ``We are happy to send the Rainbow Warrior as Greenpeace' ambassador of peace and environmental harmony to Mahatma Gandhi's country. She will join with Bhopal's gas victims in their demand for justice and with millions of other people around the world in their demand for a clean environment,'' Bode said. The ship's tour is also to call attention to the Gandhian model of environmentally sustainable development. Copyright © 1999 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
