Chemists protest over Sangharsh scene, want cut
The All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists have written a letter to the Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting to intervene and cut five minutes scene from the movie Sangharsh in which a chemist is assaulted and abused for blackmarketing and selling of expired drugs. According to an association spokesperson, "All the chemists are angry with the scene. The dialogues should be cut and the director should tender a written apology."New spokesman for CTYC named
Chandigarh Youth Congress president Chander Mukhi Sharma has appointed Uma Kant Mehta as the official spokesman of the re-constituted executive of the CTYC. The list of all the executive members will be announced later.
Talk on challenges in banking sector
A talk on "Challenges in the International Banking in the New Millennium" was given by Bhure Lal, Secretary, Government of India, at the Staff Training College. Lal urged the bank officers to be more vigilant about the computer-related frauds which are on the rise. He added that heir prosecution and punishment is all the more difficult within the framework of legal system and absence of cyber laws.
PU official assigned new responsibilities
Punjab University Joint Controller of Examinations Ashok Raj Bhandari has been assigned responsibilities of Controller of Examinations, Sodhi Ram, said a university release issued on Wednesday. Sodhi Ram proceeded on leave from Wednesday till November 5.
