Eighty-odd members of the Mulshi Taluka Industries Association met Shrikant Oak, Superintendent Engineer, Pune Rural Circle to appraise him of the problems. Local industrialists claimed that with two major companies - Tata Springs and Brenton Carpets slated to come up here, they would suffer from more voltage problems. Another industrial major Coca Cola has already begun operations here.

However, the company has preferred not to rely on the erratic MSEB power supply. When contacted, Oak admitted that the industrial estate faced problems but hastened to add that they were taking measures. There are plans to install a 22 KV booster in Pirangut (Bhare) to solve the low voltage problem. The Pirangut feeder is linked to the Chinchwad sub-station.

MSEB is also giving power to four Tata units at Hinjwadi. As a long-term measure, the MSEB is setting up a 220 KV sub-station at Pirangut funded by the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund of the government of Japan at a total cost of Rs. 5.35 crore.
