PBG/NDA have it easy against ASC

NEW DELHI, October 20: PBG/NDA beat ASC 3-1-1/2, Aravali Polo downed CNC 10-4-1/2 at the Army Equestrian Centre polog ground while People Com-Sahgal Stud downed Teachers 8-6-1/2 and LG-1 defeated Cafe Polo 4-1/2 at the Jaipur polo ground in the first round matches of LG Maharaja Prithi Singh Cup today.

In the first match between PBG/NDA and ASC, the first one was a five-goal team while the latter was a four-goal team.

Both teams tried their best in the first chukker but failed to repeat the feat in the second as the scored remained 1-1/2 each at half time. Both teams scored a goal each in the third chukker to make the score 2-1 1/2. In the last chukker proved a disaster for ASC in which they could not score while their rivals added one more goal to take the match. Bhuawani Singh scored two goals while Bajrang scored one for the winners and S.S. Rathore was the lone goal-getter for the losers.

Cuff N Collar was leading by three and a half goal to three by their rivals at the break but five quick goals by Aravali Polo put paid to Cuff N Collar's ambitions as it changed the complexion of the game thoroughly.

Jai Shergil and Kalaan scored four goals each while Sanjay Kapur and LA Singh scored once each for the winners while for Cuff N Collar B. Singh scored a brace.

Scorers for People cum-Sahgal Studd were Oliver Taylor and KG Garcha, both of whom scored two each while Siddhartha Singh and V Singh a goal each. Cadet Vishal Singh also scored for the Teacher's team.
