Haryana withdraws staff cases

CHANDIGARH, Oct 22: The Haryana government has ordered withdrawal of all cases registered under ESMA and other sections of the Indian Penal Code against its striking employees between 1995 and 1998 in the state. The state Chief Secretary has directed all departmental heads, divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners, chief administrators and managing directors of boards and corporations, Chairman, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam and Registrar, Post-Graduate Institute Medical College, Rohtak to withdraw all such cases, said an official spokesman here today.They have also been directed that all the employees terminated, dismissed or suspended during 1998 strike be taken back on duty by reinstating them and the period of absence be treated as duty period with full pay and allowances. The directive states that the period during which the employees remained under termination, dismissal, suspension and imprisonment during 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 may be treated as duty period with full pay and allowances.
