Kalyan issues yet another warning

AMIT SHARMA
LUCKNOW, OCT 22: The beleagured Chief Minister, Kalyan Singh, on Thursday fired another salvo, though an indirect one this time, by pointing out that the socio-political scenario of the state was changing and any party which would ignore this reality would return with a shrunk support base.

After Kalyan almost urged the party's central leadership to take an early decision on the leadership issue in the state a few days back, this fresh comment from him is being interpreted in political circles here as an indication that the BJP would suffer further is it tried to remove a backward leader like Kalyan from the CM's seat.

``There is a need for areview of the reasons which led to party's debacle in the state. A caste wave and tactical voting by Muslims which was a sequel to the changing socio-political scenario of the state, were some of the reasons for party's non-performance,'' said Kalyan.
