Hindu, KM in semi-finals

NEW DELHI, Oct 22: Hindu College defeated PGDAV 68-57 to enter the semi-finals of the YMCA Inter-College Invitational Basketball Tournament. Kirori Mal College too advanced to semis beating SGTB Khalsa 68-57 while St Stephen's prevailed over Hansraj College 77-64 and Zakir Hussain College beat Shri Venkateswara 67-53 and moved into last four grade.

Dhawan Indian coach
The Indian Body Building Federation has appointed Bhupinder Dhawan, an official of APMC (Azadpur) as National Coach for Senior World Body Building Championship to be held at Slovakia from November 11 to 14 where about 70 countries will participate. Dhawan has participated in the World Powerlifting Championship in Germany and has represented India seven times in world powerlifting championhips. The administrator of APMC, VP Rao presented Dhawan a cheque of Rs 70,000 to help him meet the expenses of the tour.

Minda Huf win
Minda Huf Ltd defeated MIL-4 Sonepat by six wickets in a match of Minda Inter-Unit Cup. In another match, Minda Head Office beat Mars Industries (Gurgaon) by 85 runs.
Brief scores: MIL-4: 130 in 23.1 overs (Tajender Singh 36, Arun 20, Lalit 5/9) Minda Huf Ltd: 134/4 (Dafli 29, Navjot 29, Arun 2/25); MHO: 186/7 in 25 overs (Deepak Sharma 35 no, Ramjeet Singh 30, Arvind 3/20) Mars Industries: 101 (Pradeep Saini 21, Ramjeet 2/24, Sachin 3/3).

Volleyball trials
The Delhi Volleyball Association will organise the selection trials for sub-junior (boys and girls) teams to represent Delhi in the 22nd sub-junior National volleyball championship on October 23 at 2.30 pm at Anubhav volleyball ground, Sector-7, Rohini. Players born on or after January 1, 1984 will be eligible to participate.

Parvana football
The Oriental Bank Football Club will organise the 18th HL Parvana memorial football tournament from October 25 to November 4 at Ambedkar Stadium.

Army Red triumph
Defending champions Army Red outwitted IAF 84-49 in the Inter Services Basketball championship. Phool Singh (18) and Prasad (15) were the principal contributors for the winners while Satya (23) and Sharma (11) scored for the losers.

Youngster Club win
New Youngster Club beat Mohan Nagar Kolts by 110 runs.
Brief scores: New Youngsters Club: 220 for 5 in 40 overs (Nishant Sharma 70, Abhinav Thakur 50 not out) bt Mohan Nagar Kolts: 110 all out (Surender Sharma 45, Manish Saini 5 for 40).
