Kalka-Mumbai special till Nov 17
The Western Railway has decided to extend till November 17 the service of train number 407 and 408 Kalka-Mumbai-Kalka holiday special. The decision has been taken to clear the extra rush during Diwali season. Passenger booking on computer reservation centres will begin from October 28.

10-day camp for kids in Junagadh
The Gujarat Adventure Club has organised a ten-day camp for children between the age of eight to 13 at Junagadh. The camp is scheduled to begin from November 15. Meanwhile, a primary rock-climbing training would also be imparted to people between the age of 14 and 25. Interested applicants could contact at the Club's office at Umraya, Padra.

YHAI to hold trekking expedition
The Youth Hostels Association of India will organise National Himalayan Winter Trekking Expedition in the western Himalayan region from December. The Association president Dr Jatin Modi said in a release that a new trekking route will be introduced in Dalhousie and Nanital to make the programme more adventurous and mark the new millennium. Vice-President Hansa Patel said the idea behind the programme was to expose YHAI members to greater adventure. She added that the trekking programme had the approval of the Ministry of Personnel. The release informed that the participants working for Central Government can apply to the authorities for special casual leave. The trekking expedition fee would be Rs 1,000 for Dalhousie, Rs 1,050 for Nanital and Rs 1,000 for Mussoorie. For further details interested participants can contact: Youth Hostel, Baroda unit, behind VUDA office, near Nootan society, Fatehgunj.

ABVP to hold karate camp
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad will organise a Karate camp, besides holding various competitions for girls during the Diwali vacations. Interested applicants should contact the ABVP office at Dhavalgiri Apartment, near Kuber Bhavan. They could also contact on 435351.
