According to district collector Anil Mukim, administration had recently clamped Section 144 of CrPC on the organisation and prohibited them from entering the organisation campus in the village and the village itself. This, according to Mukim, had been done keeping in mind the increasing conflict between villagers and members of the organisation after the former accused the organisation of violating the conditions on which it was allotted the land.

Sheeba Nair and Dolly Shah of Oasis later said in a statement that the bowing to public demand the organisation had decided not to allow unmarried boys and girls (volunteers) to stay together at Sherkhi.

``It was never mandatory for boys and girls to stay together. It was a social experiment. We didn't know it would end up in such a fashion,'' Nair and Shah said. Meanwhile, Covey Publications has written to the the Vadodara police in connection with the alleged copyright infringement case against Oasis founder member Sanjeev Shah. Shah is alleged to have copied from Stephen Covey's best-selling book, `Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.' Shah says its not a verbatim translation but ``a creative adaptation of the English book.''
