All the Congress leaders who attended the party's State executive meeting here today resolved to bury their differences of opinion, if any, and begin a new chapter by working together for strengthening the party unit, the APCC chief official spokesman K Rosaiah told reporters.

Infighting in the party came to the fore recently with leaders, including former APCC chief V Hanumantha Rao, former Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader P Janardhan Reddy and former CLP secretary M Kodanda Reddy blaming the APCC president Y S Rajasekhar Reddy for the party's electoral debacle and seeking his replacement.

The party had bagged only 91 out of 294 Assembly seats and five out of 42 Lok Sabha seats.

A section of the party comprising 30 legislators hailing from Telangana region had demanded the suspension ofthe three senior leaders from the party for their open rebellion.

A resolution to this effect was also moved at the three-day performance review meeting that concluded yesterday.

However, Rosaiah, flanked by the APCC chief who presided over the executive meeting also attended by Rao and Janardhan Reddy, said the executive had unanimously resolved to bury the hatchet.

``Past is past and we have decided to start afresh,'' he said, adding that it was also decided to withdraw the resolution seeking the suspension of the three leaders.

The APCC president said the party could not come to power because of the ``unholy nexus'' between BJP and TDP in the State.

However, he said that the Congress performed better by securing 43 per cent vote share as against 38 per cent last time.

He thanked the electorate for voting in favour of the Congress and also the party workers for working hard for the success of the party.

Reddy said the party would henceforth work united and assured that due recognition would beaccorded to all genuine and hardworking party workers.He said dharnas would be held in all the district headquarters on November 5 to ``expose'' the BJP for its role in including the name of former premier Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors chargesheet.
