CHANDIGARH, Nov 5: The Income Tax Department has launched a scheme by which any person owning a car, a mobile phone, or having gone abroad or having sponsored the foreign visit of a relative, or who is member of an exclusive club or has a credit card, or owns a residential house of built up area more than 1,200 sq feet or commercial property of 125 sq feet, is required to file Form No 2C.In order to make this scheme popular, the Income Tax Department is going all out to create awareness for the same in the city. The scheme is, however, not applicable to senior citizens.
According to a press release, the IT department has put up banners at various petrol pumps to make the public aware of the scheme, and to help them in filing the form so that they do not attract any penalty.
BAMS exams deferred
The Controller of Examinations, Panjab University, notified in a statement on Friday that the BAMS-II and III professional examinations scheduled to start from November 11, 1999 (Thursday), have been postponed. Fresh dates will be notified later.
