CHANDIGARH, Nov 5: An exhibition of luminaires, paintings and furniture by Aureol opened at Art Folio, Sector 10, today.Contemporary in form and experimental in design, the exhibits are classically utilitarian and aesthetically profound. Scuplture-rich in colour and unique in concepts, the Aureol exhibition does well to fit in the need for cost-effective, space-saving articles for the limited living spaces of today.
The piece de resistance at the exhibition are, of course, the sculptures in luminaires. Whether it be the long cylindrical shaded lamp on a stork-like stem, designed to throw multi-hued, kaleidoscopic light, or the smaller table-top pieces, one finds their linear concepts quite eye-catching. Whether one wants to beautify one corner of the living room with the "stork" or just adorn the bare study table with a "dwarfish" one, the effect will find synchronisation with the users senses.
