Keep politics away from Pope's visit
Solan: The Union government's decision to accord state honour to the Pope would promote Christianity in the country. It would also create a new controversy as the Pope's visit to India has been planned to spread the Christian religion. Jagadguru Shri Madhavasharm Shankrachary Jyotishpithohishawar of Badrikaasharm, while addressing a press conference here on Friday, said the people of India, particularly the Hindus, expected the government to rise above narrow political considerations and review its decision of according state honor to the Pope. "The leaders should not involve vote politics in this visit," he said.
