Weekend Retreat/Akshay Khanna

From the struggling dubutant of Himalayputra to the mature lead hero of Taal, Akshay Khanna has certainly come a long away. Written off by detractors after the miserable performance of Doli Saja Ke Rakhna and Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Akshay's film career was on the verge of a virtual collapse. But a highly acclaimed performance in Subhash Ghai's Taal has put this talented actor in the reckoning at the box office once again.

Resigned to the hectic pace of showbiz, the hard-working actor seems to have accepted a working weekend as a way of Bollyood life. However, the actor feels the need to boot up his energy every once in a while. ``I love to take off with my friends to Goa whenever possible. The beaches there are simply divine. But since extended weekends are rare, I end up going to a nearby beach such as Alibaug or Marve more often.'' A sports fiend, Akshay finds solace in squash and snooker while in town. Chatting on the net and listening to music are other sources ofrelaxation for this son of Vinod Khanna.
