PUNE, NOV 7: Dissension in Pune Congress has intensified with the loyalist camp asking the State party leadership to send a special observer to their city unit to look into party affairs.A group of about 15 corporators recently called on Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Prataprao Bhosale and vice-president Ulhas Pawar in Mumbai to brief them about the abysmal way the city unit is run. Both the leaders have reportedly assured the corporators that an observer would be sent after Diwali to sought out the matter.
The group, led by former MLA Sharad Ranpise and former mayor Vandana Chavan, strongly objected to Rajya Sabha member Suresh Kalmadi's frequent interference in party affairs.
