Cigarette ash sparks off communal riot

MUMBAI, NOV 12: A trivial issue of a person flicking cigaratte ash on another, belonging to a different community led to a clash at Raver near Jalgaon last night in which about ten persons including nine policemen were injured. Director General (Law and Order) P K Jain said that the incident happened last night at around 9 pm, when a person belonging to a particular community flicked his cigaratte ash on a boy belonging to another community at a shop in the heart of the Raver town. This resulted in a communal flareup which spread to as far as Shaukatpura, about three kms away from Raver town.
