UBS students boycott classes

CHANDIGARH, Nov 12: Students of the University Business School of Punjab University boycotted their classes today morning, to press for their demands.

Some 250 students of the department boycotted their first two periods and demanded that for the benefit of the students, the Internet facility be made available in the department and the time of the functioning of the Computer lab be extended till 8 p.m. The students were also demanding the installation of a photocopier machine, curtains, projector and a computer projector for the department. Representing the students' cause, Sidharath Dhir of MBA Part-I said the sanitation and cleanliness of the department must be taken care of on a priority basis.

Later, the agitating students met Department Chairperson R.P. Gupta and Prof P.P. Arya, who assured that the new equipment would be installed by next week.
