PUNE, Nov 12: Six Puneites, including a 12-year-old boy, who were killed in a road mishap at Yeolewadi Phata near Karad on the Mumbai-Bangalore highway on Thursday, were cremated here today.The bodies of Rajesh Ananda Paresh (35), his son Rishabh (12), Madanlal Anraj Porwal alias Jain (49), Sureshkumar Jethamal Shah (29), his brother Mukeshkumar (26) and their driver Imran Shaikh were brought to the city late last night.
The last rites were performed on Rajesh, Rishabh, Madanlal, Sureshkumar and Mukeshkumar at the Vaikunth Crematorium this morning. Mayor Dattatray Gaikwad, former MLA Vitthal Tupe, former Mayor Shantilal Suratwala as well as corporators Balaji Telkar and Datta Sagre attended the funerals.
Rajesh, Rishabh, Madanlal, Sureshkumar, Mukeshkumar and their friend Kalpesh Shah were heading for a religious function at Nipani when a truck collided head-on with their hired jeep.
