AFSC Road for civilian use

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PUNE, Nov 12: Relenting to pressure from the elected members of the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB), the army authorities have opened the Armed Forces Sports College Road for civilian use.

The closure of the road at Ghorpadi had erupted into a major controversy with the residents alleging that this was their only link to the PMC limits. Angry elected members dashed off letters to the Sub Area headquarters demanding that the road should be re-opened. They also held discussions with the Administration Commandant of the Sub Area following which the road was re-opened to civilians.
